40 days of fasting
day 6
I reference my experience ‘that I asked God
and He answered’ in response to being dictated to on the authority of
university lecturers.
I think part of my mission is the reclaim
of personal territory.
First stop, wisdom.
Godly wisdom which comes from love.
James 3: 17 - But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving,
considerate, submissive, full
of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
The wisdom of God ‘is infused into the soul by
the Spirit of God’. This is more than Solomon’s experience and
knowledge (given as they were to beauty and right living in its many forms). His
acknowledgement of God was still imperfect. For without the revelation of the
Son of God, Solomon had not received the deeper reference of love found in the substitutive,
sacrificial death and resurrection. With this deeper revelation comes the
understanding of the inherent value of each person. And with this comes both a
contralateral sense of privilege and responsibility. In Christ all the apparent
ends of spectrum are met, situations become possible to judge. God’s wisdom is
shown as reasonable in the most loving sense.
Is not a cup of water pure? Yet currently popular
authorities most often deem everything unnamable. In Christ, in submission to
the work of grace in the Holy One, I take absolute pleasure in naming my fears,
my joys, my beliefs, my recollections. And I am free. Free to love Creation; to
love nature and honour God exploring it.
